The energy efficiency improvements introduced in 2024 resulted in estimated savings of around 200,000 kWh per year, consolidating results initiated in 2023, which had been a transition year. For PRT Visual, 2024 was characterised by the efficiency improvements of printing technologies (UV LED systems and sublimation) and the installation of the new DURST machine at the end of 2024. This will contribute to reducing total consumption thanks to the elimination of two previous lines and an estimated 45% energy saving on the sublimation line, equal to 20% of PRT Visual’s total consumption. Scope 2 Emissions Scope 2 emissions are indirect emissions generated by purchased energy consumed by the Company. They can be calculated using two main methods: Location-based: emissions are calculated based on the average emissions of energy suppliers in the region, without considering the Company’s use of renewable energy. This method reflects the local energy mix and is generally more stable. Market-based: takes into account the Company’s choices regarding energy suppliers, in particular the use of renewable energy. Emissions may vary depending on energy contracts and the availability of Guarantees of Origin (GO) certificates. In 2022, PRT sourced 100% of its electricity from renewable sources, therefore reducing Scope 2 emissions calculated using the market-based method to zero. However, in 2023 and 2024, due to a change of supplier, the Company was unable to maintain this clean energy sourcing. PRT France faced a similar situation. In the first half of 2023 it used certified renewable electricity, but in the second half of the year it had to rely on non-renewable sources due to a change of supplier.
