Indirect energy consumption and Scope 2 emissions Indirect energy consumption In 2024, a further reduction was recorded, with total indirect energy consumption (electricity and heating) at Group level amounting to 7,759.3 GJ, down 8% compared to 2023 and 24% compared to 2022. This confirms the consolidation of efficiency measures introduced in previous years. PRT’s indirect energy consumption relates to energy generated externally and supplied to the Company, mainly in the form of electricity and heating purchased from external providers. These consumptions are classified as Scope 2 emissions, which represent indirect emissions resulting from the generation of purchased energy consumed by the Company. The reduction was driven by PRT S.p.A., which lowered its consumption from 7,345.0 GJ to 6,872.8 GJ (-6%), and by PRT Visual, which decreased from 937.3 GJ to 864.5 GJ (-8%), benefiting both from more efficient printing technologies and more rational use of production space. PRT France maintained broadly stable consumption, with a marginal contribution (22.1 GJ). Overall, 2024 does not show drastic reductions like those observed in 2023. Instead, it reflects a consolidation phase, indicating that the structural interventions already implemented are continuing to deliver lasting benefits.
