Direct energy consumption and Scope 1 emissions The charts show trends in direct energy consumption (in GJ) and the related Scope 1 emissions (in tonnes of CO₂e) over the 2022–2024 period. PRT’s direct energy consumption mainly derives from fuel used by the company fleet, consisting of petrol and diesel vehicles, and to a marginal extent from direct LPG consumption used to heat a small warehouse in Piove di Sacco. These consumptions are associated with Scope 1 emissions, namely emissions generated by sources directly controlled by the Company. Overall, at Group level, direct energy consumption recorded a steady increase of +26% from 2022 to 2024 (from 1,067 GJ to 1,524 GJ). In particular, in 2023–2024 PRT Visual increased its consumption from 459 GJ to 606 GJ (+32%), reflecting the expansion of the company fleet, especially for sales staff. At the same time, the Company optimised distribution by promoting the use of textile products and improving packaging rationalisation to make it more compact and reduce transported volumes. These measures helped reduce Scope 3 emissions linked to logistics. PRT S.p.A. shows a more stable trend. After the reduction in 2023 (892 GJ), consumption increased slightly to 919 GJ in 2024, while remaining below 2022 levels (1,067 GJ). This trend confirms the positive impact of opening the Milan sales office, which reduced travel for Lombardy-based staff to the Beinasco site. The increase in direct consumption is reflected in Scope 1 emissions, which rose from 74.5 tCO₂e in 2022 to 105.3 tCO₂e in 2024 (+41%) for PRT S.p.A. and PRT Visual. PRT France, which only has commercial offices and no company fleet, recorded no direct energy consumption and therefore maintained Scope 1 emissions at zero. Aware of the environmental impact of its company fleet, in order to reduce fuel consumption and therefore Scope 1 emissions, PRT is assessing a progressive shift towards hybrid and electric vehicles.
