SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2024

3.2.3. Climate action: our Net-Zero Journey1 ⁹ ⁹ In this section, we examine the Group’s energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. While the previous section focused on the Beinasco and Padua sites, where the impacts of raw materials and waste are particularly significant, here we extend the analysis to all PRT sites and offices. From this year onwards, environmental data will be presented separately for PRT S.p.A., PRT Visual and PRT France, as well as on a consolidated basis, to ensure greater accuracy and comparability. As a result, all three-year data has been recalculated according to this new methodology. However, up to 2022, PRT Visual’s data remained combined with PRT S.p.A.’s due to unified administrative management. A further change concerns the calculation of emissions: heating, previously included under Scope 1 emissions, has been reclassified as Scope 2. In this case as well, the three-year figures have been recalculated to ensure data consistency and accuracy. Sustainability Report 2024 Page 71 Energy consumption is an essential component of PRT’s operations, but it is also among the main drivers of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In a context where the climate crisis requires concrete and measurable action, PRT has chosen to embark on an ambitious decarbonisation journey that combines reduction, efficiency improvements and offsetting. In 2024, we formalised this commitment through the publication of PRT S.p.A.’s Climate Strategy, a structured plan outlining our pathway towards zero emissions, in line with the Paris Agreement and stakeholder expectations. PRT S.p.A. Climate Strategy Reduction of direct emissions (Scope 1) Progressive replacement of the fleet with hybrid and electric vehicles. 2030 Carbon Balanced 2050 NET-ZERO Interim milestone: Key objectives Final milestone: -90% emissions 10% residual offsetting Reduction of indirect emissions from electricity (Scope 2) On-site electricity self-generation and certified procurement through Guarantees of Origin (GO). Offsetting residual emissions Certified reforestation projects in areas at risk. Significant emissions reduction. Offsetting through carbon credits. Short-term positive impact Net-zero emissions in line with internationally recognised scientific criteria. The details of our Net-Zero journey are published in the Sustainability section of the PRT website.
