vs The paper industry relies on strict certification systems (such as FSC® and PEFC), ensuring that the paper used comes from protected and sustainable forests, where the cycle of planting, growth and harvesting is carefully managed. These certification schemes also ensure wood traceability, biodiversity preservation and the long-term vitality of forests. Thanks to these measures, according to the most recent FAO data, between 2005 and 2020 European forests grew by an area equivalent to 1,500 football pitches per day, enabling European forest area to increase by 9% over the last 30 years. This result has also been achieved thanks to the paper industry, which promotes sustainable forest management. Aware of this reality, PRT is committed to minimising its environmental impact by sourcing primarily from European paper mills producing FSC® or PEFC - certified paper. In this way, the Company actively contributes to the regeneration and expansion of European forests, supporting a sustainable production cycle. In 2024, 96% of the paper and envelopes used by PRT S.p.A. came from certified sources, confirming our commitment to ensuring responsible management of forest resources.
