Digital creation The first phase takes place at the Graphic Department, where files in digital format are created, according to instructions provided by the customers. 2. Printing During this phase, the two main materials get in the game, that is, the raw material and inks. The raw material changes depending on the support requested by the customer for printing. The most common ones are usually PVC, non-woven fabric, glass, fabric or wood. Then, the file created in the Graphic Department is printed on the support chosen by the customer. 3. Cutting and die-cutting Then, the product is being cut in order to take its final shape. Sometimes, some specific finishings are requested, such as: adding buttonholing to banners or seams to flags. This phase does not apply to clothing items, that go straight to the following phase. 4. Packaging Last, products are packed in dedicated cardboard packages that are delivered to final customers. In order to reduce the use of plastic, packages are closed with paper tape and natural rubber. KEY Energy consumption Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions Waste production Energy: consumption is referred to the use of computers in the Graphic Department. Energy: Consumption is referred to the printing machines used. Waste: Ink and the raw materials used (PVC, non-woven fabric or other), are temporarily stocked and later disposed of by specialized companies. Emissions: This phase generates emissions in the atmosphere; they are assessed by the Body in charge, appointed by the Province of Padua, and are considered way below the threshold values established by regulations. Energy: Consumption is referred to cutting machines. Waste: The raw materials used are temporarily stocked and later disposed of by specialized companies. Waste: Cardboard is sold, and delivered to a company that will recycle it.
