83 PRT GROUP /SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2021 PRT’s energy consumption refers to direct and indirect energy consumption for the functioning of machines and the whole infrastructure. 2021 data also include consumption for PRT France’s headquarters, mainly composed of offices. In 2021, direct consumption of diesel oil, gasoline and natural gas represent 23%, 8%, 69% respectively of the total direct consumption. Such value is equal to 3,686.4 GJ. 2021 in particular, saw a general increase in consumption, both direct and indirect, by 11% and 6% respectively, if compared to 2020. Altogether, in 2021 energy consumption increased by 8% when compared to 2020. This phenomenon is mainly due to the addition of PRT France’s consumption for 2021 only, and to the resume of activities following the 2020 lockdown – during which the company’s sellers were not able to go and see customers any longer. With reference to indirect energy consumption, 14% of electricity comes from certified renewable sources.
