Integrity, transparency, confidentiality, correctness and honesty are some of the general principles on which the Code is based, and they also define the conduct criteria within the company. PRT Group commits to operate within full respect of norms in force, building its corporate policy on the steady will to create, offer and maintain a healthy environment inside the company. Such a commitment is also aimed, in a wider sense, to preserve the natural environment for future generations. 5.2. Competence and professionalism In such a niche and innovative sector as PRT Group’s, personnel selection and training are fundamental, and require a considerable effort. The Staff Manager has a key role in this. At the end of every year, he/she drafts a training program depending on the needs detected in evaluating the personnel’s performances. Later, the research for courses is carried out depending on the availability of funds of different sources; in case of specific needs or if there are no external funds, the cost of courses is on the company. 5.2.1. A new goal: Lean Transformation Being efficient and improving each worker’s performance have always been among PRT’s goals. Therefore, the company elaborated a pathway aimed at moving from the old organizational conceptions to more modern and efficient modes through LEAN Transformation. The term LEAN became popular in 1990 and is based on Toyota Production System’s experience. It is a revolution in corporate culture and operating modes, involving all staff in detecting systems and procedures aimed at creating new, more efficient organizational processes. PRT started a pathway towards Lean Transformation in early 2022. It is a project aimed at creating the ideal conditions for an overall development and growth of the company in terms of organization, while involving the whole staff at all levels. The goal is to detect systems, procedures and working processes able to change the present organization logics in order to adopt more efficient and better-performing models.
