PRT Group employed great resources and investments to guarantee the best possible management of information. As a result, the Group received no sanctions during the periodical evaluations by the Authority. Such a degree of experience was useful when joining the association DMA; PRT gave a significant contribution in drafting the GDPR Code of Conduct for the marketing sector. This document allows to guarantee the correct management of norms envisaged by the GDPR and it was written while keeping in mind the characteristics of the many sectors involved and the specific needs of companies depending on their size. Therefore, the Code of Conduct is a strategic tool in managing privacy issues; it is useful to establish criteria for data processing and help companies minimize non-compliance risks. 3.3.2. The importance of cybersecurity In recent years, the great exposure of new digital technologies to cyberattacks required a growing attention to cybersecurity. Since 2017, the number of cyberattacks has been growing, and so has their degree of seriousness. This has led to a higher awareness by the public opinion, pushing companies to invest in cybersecurity. In order to meet this need, PRT Group implemented a security and protection policy supported by a cutting-edge technological infrastructure, monitored by a dedicated IT service. Managing cybersecurity means to guarantee the protection of IT assets and, therefore, corporate data. PRT Group based its strategy on 3 basic principles that must be applied in every solution, taking into consideration vulnerability and risks.
